POETRY SPEAKS LOUD
Poster for a Poet
Poetry is the pulse of the human soul.
It is the rhythm that transforms silence into voice, emotion into image, and words into breath. Just as the poet shapes language, the designer shapes light, colour, and form. When poetry meets design, a new universal language is born, a visual language that speaks directly to the heart.
Through the international poster exhibition “Poetry Speaks Loud”, creators bring poetry into public space through the medium of the poster. They give form and voice to verses that touched their soul, to poets who inspired them, whether from their own country or from any corner of the world. For poetry knows no borders. It is our shared language. In this meeting point between poetry and visual communication, typography acquires rhythm, the pause becomes space, and the poet’s voice finds a new form through image. Each poster becomes a tribute to the power of word and image, a bridge between literature and graphic design.
A global collection of visual poetry emerges, a mosaic of cultures, aesthetics, and voices. Each poster becomes a carrier of cultural memory and a visual imprint of language, sensitivity, and the spirit of its creator. In this way, poetry speaks again, louder than ever, through sight, light, and the creative vision of designers.
Η ποίηση είναι ο παλµός της ανθρώπινης ψυχής.
Είναι ο ρυθµός που µετατρέπει τη σιωπή σε φωνή, το συναίσθηµα σε εικόνα και τις λέξεις σε πνοή. Όπως ο ποιητής σµιλεύει τη γλώσσα, έτσι και ο σχεδιαστής σµιλεύει το φως, το χρώµα και τη µορφή. Όταν η ποίηση συναντά τον σχεδιασµό, γεννιέται µια νέα οικουµενική γλώσσα, µια γλώσσα οπτική, που µιλά απευθείας στην καρδιά.
Μέσα από τη διεθνή έκθεση αφίσας «Η Ποίηση Μιλάει ∆υνατά», οι δηµιουργοί φέρνουν την ποίηση στον δηµόσιο χώρο µέσα από την αφίσα. ∆ίνουν µορφή και φωνή σε στίχους που άγγιξαν την ψυχή τους, σε ποιητές που τους ενέπνευσαν, είτε από τη χώρα τους είτε από οποιοδήποτε σηµείο του κόσµου. Γιατί η ποίηση δεν γνωρίζει σύνορα. Είναι η κοινή µας γλώσσα. Σε αυτή τη συνάντηση ποίησης και οπτικής επικοινωνίας, η τυπογραφία αποκτά ρυθµό, η παύση γίνεται χώρος και η φωνή του ποιητή βρίσκει νέα µορφή µέσα από την εικόνα. Κάθε αφίσα γίνεται ένας ύµνος στη δύναµη του λόγου και της εικόνας, µια γέφυρα ανάµεσα στη λογοτεχνία και τη γραφιστική.
Μία παγκόσµια συλλογή οπτικής ποίησης, ένα µωσαϊκό πολιτισµών, αισθητικής και φωνών. Κάθε αφίσα λειτουργεί ως φορέας πολιτιστικής µνήµης και ως οπτικό αποτύπωµα της γλώσσας, της ευαισθησίας και του πνεύµατος του δηµιουργού της. Έτσι, η ποίηση µιλά ξανά, πιο δυνατά από ποτέ, µέσα από το βλέµµα, το φως και το δηµιουργικό όραµα των σχεδιαστών.

Poetry becomes image, colour, rhythm and voice through the power of visual communication. The international poster exhibition “Poetry Speaks Loud” is presented as part of the 12th Graphic Stories ConFest and is organised in collaboration with Alexander College.
Exhibition Opening and Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony of the international poster contest will take place on Friday, 8 May, at 20:00, immediately after the scheduled lectures. The opening of the exhibition will follow. The international poster exhibition “Poetry Speaks Loud” presents 104 posters by creators from around the world, who were invited to visualise poetry and give form to verses, emotions and poetic voices that inspired them. Each poster is a personal interpretation of poetry, a dialogue between word and image, language, typography, colour and composition. Through different cultures, aesthetics and visual languages, the exhibition creates a global mosaic of visual poetry.
Poetry speaks loud, through the gaze and creative voice of designers.

The “Poetry Speaks Loud” exhibition will then travel to Paphos, at En Plo Gallery, from 18 July and for two weeks, in collaboration with the Municipality of Paphos and co-organised with the Petrides Foundation.

Η ποίηση αποκτά εικόνα, χρώμα, ρυθμό και φωνή μέσα από τη δύναμη της οπτικής επικοινωνίας. Η διεθνής έκθεση αφίσας “Poetry Speaks Loud” παρουσιάζεται στο πλαίσιο του 12ου Graphic Stories ConFest και πραγματοποιείται σε συνεργασία με το Alexander College.
Εγκαίνια Έκθεσης και Βραβεύσεις
Οι βραβεύσεις του διεθνούς διαγωνισμού αφίσας θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Παρασκευή 8 Μαΐου, στις 20:00, αμέσως μετά τις προγραμματισμένες διαλέξεις. Αμέσως μετά θα ακολουθήσουν τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης. Στη διεθνή έκθεση αφίσας “Poetry Speaks Loud” παρουσιάζονται 104 αφίσες από δημιουργούς από όλο τον κόσμο, οι οποίοι κλήθηκαν να οπτικοποιήσουν την ποίηση και να δώσουν μορφή σε στίχους, συναισθήματα και ποιητικές φωνές που τους ενέπνευσαν. Κάθε αφίσα αποτελεί μια προσωπική ερμηνεία της ποίησης, έναν διάλογο ανάμεσα στον λόγο και την εικόνα, τη γλώσσα, την τυπογραφία, το χρώμα και τη σύνθεση. Μέσα από διαφορετικές κουλτούρες, αισθητικές προσεγγίσεις και οπτικές γλώσσες, η έκθεση δημιουργεί ένα παγκόσμιο μωσαϊκό οπτικής ποίησης.
Η ποίηση μιλά δυνατά, μέσα από το βλέμμα και τη δημιουργική φωνή των σχεδιαστών.

Η έκθεση “Poetry Speaks Loud” θα ταξιδέψει στη συνέχεια στην Πάφο, στο En Plo Gallery, από τις 18 Ιουλίουκαι για δύο εβδομάδες, με τη συνεργασία του Δήμου Πάφου και σε συνδιοργάνωση με το Πετρίδειο Ίδρυμα.
