Experiencing Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

Children will be able to experience Virtual Reality environments through the use of a Virtual Reality headset set to immerse them in places like the International Space Station or the Atlantic wreckage. The children will also have the opportunity to witness how Augmented Reality works in games such as Walking with Dinosaurs and through a custom-made game developed by the Cyprus Computer Museum educational experts.

Τα παιδιά θα μπορούν να βιώσουν περιβάλλοντα εικονικής πραγματικότητας μέσω της χρήσης ενός ειδικού σετ ακουστικών που θα τα βυθίσει σε μέρη όπως ο Διεθνής Διαστημικός Σταθμός ή τα συντρίμμια του Ατλαντικού. Τα παιδιά θα έχουν επίσης την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσουν πώς λειτουργεί η Επαυξημένη Πραγματικότητα σε παιχνίδια όπως το Walking with Dinosaurs και μέσα από ένα custom-made παιχνίδι που αναπτύχθηκε από εκπαιδευτικούς ειδικούς του Κυπριακού Μουσείου Υπολογιστών.

Dr. Cheng has received his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and his doctoral degree from Walden University. He has been teaching since 2003 and is a Certified CISCO instructor, and a LEGO Certified Teacher Trainer. He has worked hard on promoting robotics education in Cyprus and has taught numerous educators all over Cyprus on how to use robotics in their classes. He has worked with children of various ages and has participated in a number of local and international robotics competitions over the past decade.

Ο Δρ. Τσενγκ έχει λάβει το πτυχίο και το μεταπτυχιακό του στην Επιστήμη Υπολογιστών από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Τέξας στο Austin και το διδακτορικό του από το Πανεπιστήμιο Walden. Διδάσκει από το 2003 και είναι Πιστοποιημένος εκπαιδευτής CISCO, και Πιστοποιημένος Εκπαιδευτής Δασκάλων LEGO. Έχει εργαστεί σκληρά για την προώθηση της ρομποτικής εκπαίδευσης στην Κύπρο και έχει διδάξει πολλούς εκπαιδευτικούς σε όλη την Κύπρο για το πώς να χρησιμοποιούν τη ρομποτική στις τάξεις τους. Έχει δουλέψει με παιδιά διαφόρων ηλικιών και έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλούς τοπικούς και διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς ρομποτικής την τελευταία δεκαετία.
